Stratagem

 

Several moves ago, pizza and checkers

beneath the weakest of efforts from tungsten.

Presently, chess and escargot

above immaculate travertine.

 

It remains difficult to know

which dame is more complex.

Perhaps it would help

to sneak the light of scars

 

from the kite’s sky —

remove that hat, too.
